About the Event
This workshop is offered to strengthen resilience and renew motivation, in the face of the global predicaments assailing us.
We will explore the personal impacts of living with increasing knowledge of the pandemic, racial, climate and biodiversity emergencies, and the internal resources we need to stay well, energised and effective.
The workshop offers a safe holding space for participants to explore the realities of how it feels to face our global predicaments, re-connect with our deeper motivations in life  and find fresh perspectives that re-energise and inspire us.
This exploration will:
- Strengthen  our personal resilience to support us in staying inspired, energised and effective
-Identify the impacts that knowledge of the global emergencies has on our well-being
-Strengthen our personal motivations for our lives and work and for wanting ‘to make a difference’
During the day we will be:
• Expressing  our gratitude – to feel buoyant and energised by the wonders of life surrounding us
• Exploring our troubles for the world, such as: fear, anguish, anger, sorrow, grief – knowing we are not alone in the depth of our compassion for life
• Gaining a wider perspective – seeing the world through new eyes so we can step back into the world refreshed
• Exploring pathways for more creative and positive responses – daring to vision the more beautiful world our hearts long for

The Work That Reconnects Wales: Creating Foundations for Personal and Community Resilience.
The Work that Reconnects is a beautiful body of work honed over four decades by Buddhist scholar Joanna Macy. Originally known as Despair and Empowerment work, this is a powerful process, which spirals through four stages that draw on a large collection of practices that have been experienced by tens of thousands of people all over the world.

Statement of self-care and self-responsibility
We care about your wellbeing. So, as you decide whether to participate in this event, it’s important that you’re aware some of the practices we offer can bring forth strong emotions which, for some people, can be challenging. Though we are careful to create safe space, we ask you to think about, and take full responsibility for, your self-care and mental health before booking onto any of our events. We suggest considering what support you might have available, from your social networks, after attending an event, since we don’t provide an after-care service.
Please note that none of our offerings are intended as therapy, or as a replacement for therapeutic services. Should you be in an active trauma, addiction or mental health crisis, then we encourage you to seek specialist support in the first instance and we wish you courage and care for your journey.
If you are currently receiving mental health or addiction services, or treatment, then we invite you to consider whether a process that may bring forth strong emotions, in you or other participants, is right for you at this time. If you decide to go ahead we ask that you consult with your health practitioner, to gain their agreement and support before going ahead.
In booking your place you confirm that you have read and agree to this self-responsibility statement.
Thank you
